Antonio M. Moreiras
Antonio M. Moreiras is Project and Development Manager at NIC.br, where he is one of the people responsible for coordinating and operating IX.br, which comprises dozens of Internet Exchanges in Brazil and interconnects hundreds of ISPs and other autonomous systems. Moreiras coordinates IPv6.br, an initiative for the deployment of IPv6 in Brazil. He is also responsible for making Brazil’s official legal time freely available on the Internet via NTP, for training programs aimed at ISPs, as well as for other technical projects that contribute to the development of the Internet in Brazil, improving its quality and costs.
As part of his activities at NIC.br, he is a regular speaker at conferences and technical events. He regularly participates in technical and Internet governance forums. He is also a founding member of ISOC Brazil and a professor at CGI.br’s School of Internet Governance.
He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. He also holds an MBA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He studied Internet Governance at the Diplo Foundation and at the South School on Internet Governance. Moreiras has also worked as a professor in computing and networking courses at Universidade Cidade de São Paulo, Faculdades Tancredo Neves, and Faculdades Radial.
