
Carolina Aguerre is Associate Researcher at the Centre for Global Cooperation Research (GCR21) at the University of Duisburg-Essen (2021) and co-Director of the Center for Studies in Technology and Society (CETyS) at the University of San Andrés in Argentina.
Carolina has been researching, developing, and participating in various aspects of Internet policy and governance and digital technologies with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean for two decades. She is the academic director and founder of the Diploma in Internet Governance (DiGI). She is a member of the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) (2020-2022) organized by the OECD. She is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Digital Trade and Data Governance Hub of the Elliott School of International Affairs (George Washington University) and of the Data Pollution and Power group of the University of Bonn Sustainable AI Lab. She was the executive director of LACTLD, a member of the IGF MAG, and of the LACIGF program committee. She has published multiple articles and chapters for international scientific publishing houses. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Buenos Aires and an M.A. from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
