FRIDA Videoconference

On July 03, FRIDA (The Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean) held an interactive session. This activity was the opportunity to explain the objectives of the program, to present the 2008 call for research proposals and to answer questions about the participation conditions for that call and about submitting projects.

These are some of the questions that were answered during the videoconference:

1- Do the projects have to be in operation or execution when applying for FRIDA?

2- Which are the members of the technical evaluation committee?

3- What are the ad-hoc funds?

4- What happens to the projects if they are not chosen? Does FRIDA make a database for future potential funding initiatives?

5- Is it possible to purchase equipment with those funds?

6- Can the projects count with other funding resources besides the ones granted by FRIDA?

7- What do “annual projects” means? Must it necessarily last a year?

8- Besides funding, is it possible to establish more permanent work actions like training and internships?

9- Is it possible to present an initiative that was declined in previous calls?
